The bending strength of Al2O3 porcelain sintered products can reach 250MPa, and the hot-pressed products can reach 500MPa. Al2O3 ceramics can reach Mohs hardness of 9 and have excellent anti-wear properties, so they are widely used in manufacturing tools, ball valves, grinding wheels, ceramic nails, bearings, etc. Among them, Al2O3 ceramic tools and industrial valves are the most widely used. .
Al2O3 ceramic performance profile
Alumina ceramics are the most widely used, most versatile, and most productive ceramic materials among oxide ceramics.
According to research reports, there are 12 homogeneous polymorphic variants of Al2O3, but there are mainly three types used, namely α-Al2O3, β-Al2O3, and γ-Al2O3. These three crystals have different structures, so their properties are different. With great differences.
• α-Al2O3 is a trigonal crystal system, which has the tightest structure, low chemical activity, good high temperature stability, excellent electrical properties and best mechanical properties.
• β-Al2O3 is a polyaluminate mineral with a high Al2O3 content. Its chemical composition contains a certain amount of alkaline earth metal oxides and alkali metal oxides, and it can also exhibit ionic conductivity.
• γ-Al2O3 is a spinel-type cubic structure. Unstable at high temperatures, poor mechanical and electrical properties. However, it has a high specific surface area and strong chemical activity, and can be used as an adsorption material after technical improvements.
